Shoi Caballes was killed on Wednesday in a tragic accident at a Palm Harbor gas station. Two of her children survived the explosion after trying to save their mother, which was caused by a driver unintentionally parking their car into a pump. The collision pinned Cabelles against a dislodged gas pump that soon caught on fire. Following the tragedy, the baseball coach at East Lake High School set up a GoFundMe page to assist the family....

Banes, 65, remained hospitalized in critical condition on Saturday night after being injured in the hit-and-run accident, her manager David Williams told The Associated Press. Banes was struck as she was crossing Amsterdam Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper West Side on her way to visit her alma mater, the Julliard School, according to Williams. Williams said Banes was being treated for “substantial injuries” at Mount Sinai Morningside hospital. “We have several days ahead of us to pray for Lisa,” Banes’s wife, Kathryn Kranhold, said in a statement to the New York Daily News....

Huskies guard Jaylen Nowell hit two free throws to tie the game at 79 with 10 seconds left.
