Karnowski has been dealing with a bulging disc in his back, and he was on the injury report as “out indefinitely.” The 7-1 big man was averaging 8.8 points and 5.4 rebounds in five games this season. He was expected to be a major part of Gonzaga’s talented 2015-16 roster.
The Polish senior will likely be eligibile for a medical redshirt, but he could opt for the NBA if he chooses.
