Rahal showed off his new helmet paint scheme for this weekend’s race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Oho.

“I had this concept that, with Ohio State having won the national championship and us being in the championship battle here, it would be fun to come home and do something I haven’t done before,” Rahal told Tim May of the Columbus Dispatch. “This thing, it is very accurate.”

The helmet features Rahal’s number (15), same as Ohio State star running back Ezekiel Elliott and 18 Buckeye leaves for each of Rahal’s career victories, May noted.

Rahal even had a little fun with NFL Network host Rich Eisen, a Michigan and Northwestern graduate.
