The question of whether the team would bring Hardy back was asked of Jones since the Cowboys did not select a pass rusher with one of their first three picks in this year’s draft.

When asked if Hardy being on his team 2016 was off the table, Jones, per ESPN, replied, “Yes.”

With his well-documented alleged violence against ex-girlfriend Nicole Holder, Hardy is a huge public relations headache for any team. That’s probably not the issue for Dallas, though, as they brought Hardy aboard in 2015 — the domestic violence case surfaced in May 2014. The real issues for the Cowboys are that Hardy underperformed last season and was a nuisance to his team on the field and in the locker room. Coach Jason Garrett was not a fan.

Dallas defensive ends DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory are both facing four-game suspensions for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Per the Dallas News, the team does not plan to re-sign DE Jeremy Mincey in 2016, nor is it pursuing free agent DE Jason Jones.
