Atletico Madrid star Griezmann scored one from the penalty spot and had a hand in two more goals as France defeated Croatia 4-2 in Sunday’s final to be crowned world champions for a second time.
And the 27-year-old was already making plans for the trip back to his homeland to celebrate the victory after acknowledging a tough clash against Croatia.
“I don’t know where I am! I’m so happy,” Griezmann told TF1 .
“Croatia played a great game. It was a hard game for us as we started slowly.
“We made the difference little by little on the counter. It’s such a pleasure.
“We can’t wait to bring the cup back to France. To score in the final makes me so happy.
“I hesitated to do a Panenka [with the penalty]. I hope to sleep with the cup.”
Griezmann scored four goals across the six matches at the tournament, with three of them penalties.
