“We are undefeated in re-signing our core players, and we will remain so,” Wallace said Wednesday on ESPN Radio’s “The Chris Vernon Show.” “We are going to re-sign Mike Conley.”

Conley played in just 56 games this season after experiencing Achilles tendinitis last month. He averaged 15.3 points and 6.1 assists.

The Grizzlies, who are trailing the Spurs two games to none in their Western Conference first-round playoff series, have been hit hard by injuries this season. Starting center Marc Gasol was lost for the season in early February after breaking his foot, and backup point guard Mario Chalmers tore his Achilles last month.

Conley’s injury troubles go back to last season, when he came into the playoffs with plantar fasciitis and then suffered a facial fracture against the Trail Blazers in the first round.
