BEST HOTELS: Hacienda Na Xamena, on a cliff above the sea, is stunning and expensive (+34-971-334-500). Or try the funky La Ventana in the walled city of Dalt Vila–get a room facing the park (+34-971-390-857). The finest choice: the nine-suite Can Curreu, in the country near Sant Carles (+34-971-335-280).
BEST RESTAURANTS: You can eat very well in Ibiza town, but at night head for the country (hardly anything is more than a half hour away). Try Amalur for Basque cooking, La Masia for classic Spanish food or the unpretentious Can Balafia for grilled meats.
BEST BARS: Marisol is a people-watching paradise in Ibiza town. Or there’s Can Costa, inland in Santa Gertrudis. If you must: Manumission (Monday nights at the club Privilege). It holds 10,000, with the DJ suspended over the pool.
BEST BEACHES: Ses Salines, a beautiful-people beach near Ibiza town; Platjes de Compte, great for kids. But try the small coves–or for some of the best beaches in the Mediterranean, take a half-hour hydrofoil ride to the neighboring island of Formentera; try Platja Illetes.
