Ahead of Wednesday’s Game 2 between the Knicks and Hawks, an amped-up Madison Square Garden crowd unleashed a fresh round of boos as Young and his teammates took the court. Young emerged as the next great Garden villain after sinking the game-winning shot in the series opener and taunting Knicks fans, who had been been hitting the 22-year-old with a barrage of “F— Trae Young” chants throughout Game 1.

It was clear that those in attendance for Game 2 would be doubling down on their efforts to throw Young off his game. (Note: Strong language in the clips below.)
Knicks supporters apparently had another planned chant ready to go: “Trae is balding.” Lame!
Unfortunately for New York, the anger only fueled Young. He opened Game 2 with a smooth step-back 3-pointer and once again taunted the crowd by putting his finger over his mouth. He finished the first half with 20 points and four assists, and Atlanta took a 57-44 lead into the locker room.
Maybe it’s time for the MSG faithful to try a new strategy. Perhaps going completely silent each time Young touches the ball?
