Harris said the comments her father made about policing her virginity with annual gynecology trips shook their relationship. In a tell-all moment, Harris got emotional about her bond with her father, and the embarrassment when he revealed he takes Harris to the doctor yearly to prove her hymen is intact.

Naturally, the public comment strained Harris’ trust in her father. “I’m scrolling on Twitter, and I see that I’ve been tagged in a post,” she said in the episode. “The only word that I saw was ‘gynecologist’ and I didn’t even need to read the whole title ‘cause I just knew. My heart sank—very shocked, hurt, angry, embarrassed.”

Harris spoke with her cousins about the comment. “I mean, honestly, I’m embarrassed definitely for sure,” she explained. “I’m trying to put it in the back of my mind so I’m not really thinking about it. I know it’s not healthy. But I’ve been doing that since I was a child.”

She also admitted the family dynamic has changed. “I don’t want to say I’m kind of just looking at him differently because of this—really I mean, like, more so our relationship. I’m gonna look at it differently.”

Harris is an entrepreneur with 1.5 million followers on Instagram. She revealed that the “situation is so traumatizing,” and also claimed her relationship with her father would continue, despite the awkward, public moment. In a moment with her cousins, Harris also claimed she’ll aim to be a “better parent,” but said her dad isn’t a bad one, despite the public eruption that cause the public to judge his parenting.

T.I. also addressed the topic during the episode. “I told a joke that was laced in truth, also [with] a lot of major embellishments,” he said. “I was speaking past tense. People thought I was speaking present day.”

Online conversations slammed musician T.I. for the claim and said it was majorly inappropriate to supervise his daughter’s sexuality. He later walked back the comments in a conversation with Jada Pinkett Smith on Red Table Talk.

“She did have a problem with me talking about it however, and I understand that, and I am incredibly apologetic to her for that,” he admitted. “She understands my intentions and she knows who I am, who I’ve always been.”
