That’s because at the end of the 2018-19 season, Reddit laid down the hammer and banned the subreddit. When you go to the page it reads, “This subreddit was banned under Reddit’s Repeat Copyright Infringement Policy.”
We reached out to Reddit at the time, and the company declined a public statement. But a spokesperson did refer to the company’s 2018 Transparency Report, which shows DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) notices spiking in recent years. In 2016, there were 1,155 DMCA notices, which resulted in 610 content removals. In 2018, there were 9,534 DMCA notices, which resulted in 26,234 content removals.
As for why NBAStreams was banned, you probably already know the answer — it’s illegal in practice. But here’s what the official Reddit policy says:

Well, it’s not really a secret as to where NBAStreams has moved to. If you do a simple Google search of the subreddit’s name then the subreddit /r/adamsilverfanpage pops up. Stickied at the top of this subreddit is a post titled, “Welcome r/nbastreams, Welcome everyone.”
The message in the post reads: “As you know, r/nbastreams community was banned a few months ago, so we have created this subreddit for the sole purpose of providing you free NBA content!”
The new subreddit essentially acts the same as the old, but with a few tweaks to avoid getting banned again.
