Norville’s position was precarious from the start: she was perceived as the ambitious “younger woman” ousting the popular Pauley. Recently she caused a mild flap by posing in People magazine breast-feeding her 3-week-old son, Niki. Though Couric isn’t worried about being cast in the same light - “the circumstances are different,” she says - she has one thing in common with her predecessor. She’s pregnant and is taking leave in July. No word yet on who will replace her.
